In the past I have mentioned that I can’t really take in part in many activities because of the risk of damaging my MAGEC rods.
I can most definitely not do:
- Running (like fun runs or cross country)
- Trampolining
- Climbing
- Horse Riding
- Gymnastics or Dancing (I’m not flexible enough through my back)
- and loads of other fun things!
So this summer I did try to take part in some things that are fun activities that weren’t a probe.
I took part in some tennis lessons with my friends and also did a bit of archery. They were both loads of fun and I didn’t hurt my back doing them.
I can’t wait to do them again next year when the weahter gets warmer.

Emilia,
I am a scoliosis patient too and sometimes in my life I feel as if I am a failure. I just found your blog from you being on Operation Ouch . You are an inspiration to me and everyone who reads this carry on doing what your doing! Xx

Thank you for getting in touch Kayla. It’s really nice to hear from other people who have scoliosis, makes you realise you’re not so different! I’m glad you enjoyed Operation Ouch, it was so much fun doing it and I really wanted to help people know what it’s like for us. Keep in touch, Emilia x
